About Katapult

Katapult provides game-based learning experiences in STEAM (Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) to develop children’s computational thinking skills but most to show them that they can actually invent the world they live in. Katapult provides them with lifelong skills to empower them to become future problem solvers and change makers. Katapult is also an initiative to encourage more people to go into STEAM. Katapult also seeks to be the leader in defining and re engineering of how to incorporate a culture of innovation. 

 

Katapult has been in existence since early 2019 and has since had numerous highlights and achievements. We are now looking to grow our team as well as the size of our operations. We are looking for a rockstar to join us as a Strategy & Market Research Intern to help us chart the strategic direction of the organisation. Mission of the Role 

We are looking for someone to identify and run analysis on potential growth opportunities beyond 2020 through 2023 and beyond. We would like to get a deep understanding of the market as it relates to our product. This requires an initial and more detailed research regarding our potential customer base, the competitive landscape, and current customers. These analyses will enable us to make an informed decision regarding our focus for 2021, new market entry and high level direction for our goals for the next 3 years. 

 

Responsibilities

Market research

  • Identify our total addressable market size, spending habits, types of customers, similar markets to Mauritius for expansion, partnerships with local organisations, and willingness to pay for our product through desk research 

  • Understand our current customers through facilitated focus groups 

  • Run in-depth analyses and benchmarking on competitor landscape with a SWOT analysis for Katapult 

 

Data

  • Identify key data sources and gather data through secondary research as needed 

  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses on core findings and synthesize insights 

 

Overall

  • Support the team in deciding the focus for 2021 through a set of recommendation from key findings 

  • Ensure that there is a clear story to understand our positioning, market trends and current customers through data

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in a related role or demonstrated experience in running similar projects 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, MBA is a plus (or currently enrolled in an MBA program)

  • Experience working in education or demonstrated knowledge of STEM education

  • Track record in managing multiple projects

  • Excellent analytical  and critical thinking skills 

  • Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills 

  • Strong stakeholder management

  • Deep curiosity and passion for startups

  • Creative streak and think outside the box
